Is Scientology A False Religion?
Issue
Scientology was founded by the author L. Ron Hubbard whose teachings are practiced by many people worldwide. However, some believe that the doctrine is fraudulent in nature due to its secrecy and monetary-based lessons.
Solution
The practice of Scientology is a set of beliefs and practices of where traumatic events causes subconscious recordings in one's mind that only may be removed by "auditing" (i.e. therapy session to reduce neuroses). Which appears to be reasonable until one realizes how the religion determined that such practices are necessary for achieving general health and well-being.
Surprisingly, the doctrine is based on the events that happened millions of years ago by an alien being called Xenu, who killed many of his followers when they were brought to Earth.
The story goes on but brings into question, how did Hubbard know what happened millions of years ago? He claimed that he developed his ideas through research and experimentation rather than through a supernatural source, however, how did Hubbard know what transpired so long ago?
There wasn't an archeological find of some kind nor was there a historical transcript that described the relevant events. The only known fact is that L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer. He made things up for a living. Which brings into question the validity of his doctrine since there is no other historical accounting of an alien invasion on Earth.
